Ingredients
  

the Cake:
  • 1 box devil's food cake mix
  • Eggs as called for on box
  • Water as called for on box
  • Oil as called for on box
  • 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 12 oz jar caramel sauce
  • 8 oz Heath toffee bits
the Topping:
  • 16 oz whipped topping Cool Whip, thawed
  • 4 Heath candy bars crushed
  • Extra caramel sauce for drizzling

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Wooden spoon for poking holes
  • Mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer (hand or stand)
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Offset spatula for spreading toppings

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare cake mix according to box directions.
  3. Bake in 9x13 inch pan for 30-35 minutes.
  4. While still hot, poke holes all over cake with wooden spoon handle.
  5. Pour sweetened condensed milk over hot cake.
  6. Pour caramel sauce over milk.
  7. Sprinkle half the toffee bits over top.
  8. Let cool completely (30-45 minutes).
  9. Spread whipped topping evenly.
  10. Top with remaining toffee bits and crushed Heath bars.
  11. Drizzle with caramel sauce.
  12. Refrigerate 2 hours before serving.
