Hot Italian Sub Sliders with melted cheese, sliced meats, peppers, and fresh herbs on toasted golden rolls.

Hot Italian Sub Sliders

5 from 1 vote
These Hot Italian Sub Sliders were born from one chaotic soccer birthday party where twelve hungry kids needed food fast — and they haven't failed me once since. Buttery Hawaiian rolls, layered Italian meats, melty provolone, and that garlicky butter topping come together in a way that makes people pause mid-conversation.

Ingredients

  • 24 Hawaiian sweet rolls - 1 full 24-count slab
  • 8 oz sliced salami
  • 8 oz sliced pepperoni
  • 8 oz sliced ham
  • 12 slices provolone cheese
  • ½ cup sliced banana peppers
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Optional shredded lettuce
  • Optional tomato slices
  • Optional Italian dressing
  • Optional red onion

Equipment

  • 1 9x13 inch baking dish (Fits a full 24-count slab of Hawaiian rolls)
  • 1 Serrated knife (To slice the rolls horizontally as one connected slab)
  • 1 Pastry brush (For brushing on the garlic-butter mixture)
  • 1 Foil (To cover during baking so cheese melts evenly)
  • 1 Small bowl (To mix butter, garlic, Parmesan, and seasoning)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13 dish with foil. Slice rolls horizontally as one whole slab. Mix garlic butter ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Place bottom rolls in dish. Layer salami, then pepperoni, then ham.
  3. Top with provolone slices and scatter banana peppers evenly.
  4. Add top roll layer. Brush generously with garlic butter and sprinkle extra Parmesan. Cover tightly with foil.
  5. Bake 15 minutes covered, then 5 minutes uncovered until golden.
  6. Let sliders rest 5 minutes so cheese sets before slicing.
