Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups 1 pound unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 cloves fresh garlic minced
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon dried chives

Equipment

  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Microplane or garlic press
  • Plastic wrap or butter molds
  • Storage container

Method
 

  1. Leave butter at room temperature for 1 hour until softened. Place softened butter in a mixing bowl.
  2. Using a spoon, whip the butter until creamy and smooth.
  3. Add minced garlic and fresh parsley. Mix well to combine.
  4. Add all dried herbs and spices. Pour in fresh lemon juice. Mix thoroughly until everything is evenly distributed.
  5. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
  6. Place the butter mixture on plastic wrap and roll into a log shape. Wrap tightly and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm.
  7. Slice as needed and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use a food processor to mince garlic and herbs
  • Make a double batch and freeze half
  • Prep ingredients while butter softens
  • Use herb paste if fresh herbs aren't available
