Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 1-2 minutes. Mix in eggs and vanilla until fully combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined and no streaks of flour remain. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough for each cookie, spacing them 2-3 inches apart on the baking sheet. If desired, press chocolate chunks or sprinkles into the tops.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden, but the centers are still a little soft. Remove from the oven and immediately use the heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes. Be cautious as the cookies will be hot!
- Let the cookies cool on the sheet for 5-7 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
