  • 1 cup Warm milk - Body temperature (about 100–105°F)
  • 2 Eggs - Room temperature
  • 4 tablespoon Butter - Melted
  • 3 tablespoon Sugar - White, or swap with coconut/brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract - Can swap for almond extract
  • ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg - Freshly grated if possible
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest - Optional, adds brightness
  • Vegetable oil - For frying (about 4 cups, enough for deep frying)
  • Powdered sugar - For dusting
