  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  2. Line 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang
Brownie Layer
  1. Whisk melted butter and sugar
  2. Beat in eggs one at a time
  3. Stir in vanilla
  4. Sift and fold in cocoa powder, flour, and salt
  5. Fold in chocolate chips
  6. Spread in prepared pan
Cookie Layer
  1. Cream butter and sugars (3-4 minutes)
  2. Beat in eggs and vanilla
  3. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt
  4. Fold in chocolate chips
  5. Dollop and spread over brownie layer
Baking
  1. Bake 35-40 minutes until cookie layer is golden
  2. Cool completely (about 2 hours)
  3. Cut into squares
