- Wash and chop potatoes into chunks. Pat dry. Slice sausage into rounds and set aside.
- Toss potatoes with melted butter, ranch seasoning, salt, pepper, and optional garlic/onion powder.
- Layer potatoes in the baking dish, sausage on top. Do not mix.
- Bake at 400°F for 30 minutes. Add shredded cheese and bake 10–15 more minutes until bubbly.
- Garnish with green onions and serve with sour cream if desired.
